First Impressions & Setting
The impressive Gloriette Guesthouse is located in Oberbozen, close to a cable car that takes guests to Bolzano. The hotel has a ski room, wellness and sauna area. Gloriette Guesthouse is one of the sweetest vacation places we’ve ever had the chance to stay at. In a relaxed atmosphere of the Gloriette Guesthouse you can enjoy the view of the Dolomites and dine on international dishes, as well as typical dishes from South Tyrol. The hotel’s cozy atmosphere and the warmth of the hosts made our stay absolutely perfect. We checked in at the beautiful Gloriette Guesthouse and it was love at first sight.
Floating Breakfast
You will never forget a sunrise in the Gloriette Pool! You can also order breakfast in the pool. The Gloriette Guesthouse is perfectly equipped for magical moments. With the view from the infinity pool on the rooftop terrace, you could whoop with happiness. The pool is generally open from 10am – 9pm but if you book the floating breakfast, you can have the pool to yourself before 10am. You can see everything from up there: the sky, the mountains with their valleys and forests. Such an amazing and unique experience!
Food
Back to breakfast – it tastes just as good on the terrace or in the restaurant area as it does in the pool. Perhaps even better, because in addition to the bulging etagere, very special treats are prepared on request. Avocado Toasts, Eggs, waffles, pancakes – whatever your heart desires. Their breakfast buffet is definitely never a standard one. They do their best to serve something new and different every morning and they’re always waiting for you with a smile. There’s a wide selection of choices, with fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals, jams and freshly baked bread always available.
Another insider tip is the small „Ristorantino“, which also spoils the palate in the evening with refined dishes – pleasure at it’s best, which you must not miss!
Facilities
The panoramic rooftop pool is probably the main attraction at Gloriette Guesthouse. This is how we fell in love with this place before even arriving there. Snacks and tea are provided for free for the guests and sparkling wine is available on request. And guess what? You can also have it served on a floating table! 🙂
In addition to the wellness pool, there are two saunas on the roof terrace. In the Finnish sauna you can sweat profusely, the steam sauna is a little milder, but no less efficient in terms of relaxation, and after the sauna two beautiful relaxation rooms await you. We loved the spa and wellness area on the rooftop. It’s simply breathtaking and we couldn’t help but take advantage of it as much as possible.
Villa Gloria
During our stay we did not sleep directly in the Gloriette Guesthouse, but in the Villa Gloria, which is located in the very near. Villa Gloria is in a fantastic location: in just 2 minutes you can easily reach Gloriette Guesthouse where you can book a day spa. Somehow in the middle of nowhere and yet at the same time in the middle of it all: 10 minutes by cable car to Bolzano, 5 minutes‘ walk to the forest and if you want, you can be in the most iconic outdoor swimming pool in just 2 minutes. What about the mountains? Yes, they are everywhere.
Our room „Grande“ offered a fantastic view of the mountains and valley to the south. You also have your own sweet Kitchenette with utensis. While staying at Villa Gloria you get your own breakfast box so you can take breakfast at the wonderful park or at your super spacious room. The facility has super much to offer, such as a huge swing, a sauna, a whirlpool and many hidden romantic corners. In the evening, the whole outdoor area is beautifully illuminated.
Summer Activities
Gloriette Guesthouse is the perfect starting point for many sporting activities especially for hiking and walking. We loved exploring the beautiful mountain panorama and the area. In the mountains you can breathe deeply and enjoy the great view.
Kastelruth
During our stay we made a trip to Kastelruth (Approx. 1 hour car drive). There is a beautiful church and a great mountain panorama. The view was unforgettable and beautiful!
Overall
Even though it is called „Guesthouse”, you shouldn’t be fooled by its title: Gloriette felt like a 5 stars hotel, but with a warmer and even lovelier atmosphere! The hotel’s location is simply perfect, in the middle of that tiny mountain village with stunning panoramic views and the staff is super kind and helpful. The hosts Birgitt, Andi and Julika make the Gloriette Guesthouse in Oberbozen to a place where everything revolves around pleasure and fun. We will surely come back to one day.
