Aqua Dome Hotel Therme & Spa

WELLNESS FOR ALL SENSES IN THE HEART OF TYROL

First Impressions & Setting

Impressive, imposing, varied & of course relaxing. These are the words I would use to describe the Tyrolean spa resort Aqua Dome, where we have just spent a wonderful timeout.

Facilities

Aqua Dome stands out by its futuristic-looking water and sauna world – in the atmosphere of our summer-sunshine wellness and a solemn moonshine bathe we could definitely take a deep breathe! Every Friday the thermal bath is open until midnight so you can relax while looking into the stars.

My personal highlight at the Aqua Dome was definitely the SPA 3000, which is only available to hotel guests. On two levels and 2,000 square meters, there is also a large selection of saunas, baths and themed showers here. I particularly liked the beautiful panoramic terrace with a view of the three-thousand-meter peaks of the Ötztal valley that give the spa its name – and, of course, the cozy relaxation area with a flickering fireplace. Several times a day, the SPA 3000 offers herbal wraps followed by a peeling.

Food and Rooms

There’s no better way to start the day than with the fresh breakfast buffet of the Aqua Dome. The options are various and made out of local products like fresh veggies, milk products, sausages and so much more. My favorite part of the buffet was the egg station, the fresh juices and smoothies, the orange juice press and the Ötztal honey from the honeycomb. In the evening we were spoiled with a three-course menu or alternatively a large buffet. As a starter and main course there was always a choice of meat, fish and a vegan dish.

Our Alpin Room included a large private balcony overlooking the mountains – during the summer you can relax here with pleasure on the balcony. 🙂 Non-alcoholic drinks from the minibar are always free and refilled daily. And then there are delicious apples from the region every day, which we snacked on during the day.

Activities

The thermal resort made it really hard for us to leave the facility at all from time to time. On the other hand, the Ötztal is also too beautiful to be completely left behind for our stay. 🙂

Piburgersee

The Piburgersee is the landmark and natural jewel of Oetz. Due to its scenic location, the lake is a popular destination for excursions.

The Piburgersee in Oetz is not only one of the highest lakes, but also the warmest bathing lake in Tyrol. Located in the middle of the forest at 913 meters above sea level, the lake is one of the most beautiful natural experiences in the Ötztal. In an ideal way, the bathing pleasure can also be combined with a hike.

In the Ötztal valley you will find over 1,300 km of well-developed, varied hiking trails leading through forest and valley, over glaciers and peaks, past many typical Tyrolean mountain villages.

We hiked, for example, to this beautiful suspension bridge. The view was incredibly beautiful and picturesque. On the way we also encountered various animals such as goats and free-roaming cows. Such an unforgettable experience.
